"R" is for Reflection

Before we dive in, Barbara insists on a shout-out for Margie’s picture this week. Margie has contributed so many beautiful photos to this blog; however, this week’s is not only hugely appropriate, but it surpasses, in beauty, most of her others! We hope you enjoy the “reflection.”

Now to the matter at hand, which is… reflection. Suppose you could look in a (magic) mirror and see not today’s reflection of yourself, but rather the reflection of yourself living your wish-come-true.

Reflection can be a time of clarification; a daily practice to revise, add to, or enhance your wishes. We do recommend doing this, but not to the point of rumination! Beware!

What’s the difference?

We think of rumination as a downward spiral in our thinking. Something to be noticed, paused, and redirected. In our world, putting any attention on worry, negative prediction, “doom and gloom,” and the like cancels the positive emotional state - the vibration - we seek to maintain.

Reflection on the surface is neutral. You can reflect on anything you want. We have deliberately given reflection a positive spin, meaning the thinking, feeling, and believing we do about positive outcomes, wishes come true, and healing. We also give it a little bit of a “futuristic” spin, in that we reflect on future states where we have our hearts’ desires.

It’s like that magic mirror we mentioned earlier. We reflect on what life will be like when one or more of our wishes come true. We also reflect on the bounty that has already flowed into our lives from past wishes come true. This allows an attitude of gratitude to enhance our reflection and support what is to come.

One of the early wishes Barbara shared was about finding the perfect pair of jeans, which gives a good example. On reflection, she was noticing how great she looked and felt in that perfect pair of jeans. What that does is cue up the next wish to come true! Gratitude plus happy anticipation equals the positive vibration that says, “I really want this, it will enhance my well-being, and I hope you deliver it soon,” to the Universe.

So the next time you look in the mirror, try this: imagine you are seeing yourself living in one of your wishes. Really see it! What you are wearing; where you are going; how you are feeling (essential!). Get colorful! See your reflection in full “technicolor” as if it’s happening right now. This is what we mean when we talk about living in the positive vibration of wishes coming true - setting up the realization of your heart’s desires, of the Universe hearing you.

Next week, we will be talking about “the next bridge to cross” in your wishing journey.

Until then,

Peace and All Good
